Anterior tibial artery distal

The anterior tibial artery passes through a foramen in the superior part of the crural interosseous membrane which links together the tibia and fibula to enter the anterior compartment of the leg adjacent to the medial aspect of the neck of the fibula. The anterior tibial artery then continues its course through the anterior compartment of the leg, superficial to the interosseous membrane but deep to the muscles of the anterior leg.
