Tibial nerve model
The tibial nerve may be palpated just posterior to the medial malleolus adjacent to the posterior tibial artery. Just proximal to its terminal division the tibial nerve gives rise to a branch called the medial calcaneal nerve. This nerve supplies the skin of the heel and medial side of the foot. Note that the tibial nerve courses through the leg alongside the posterior tibial artery. Remembering this fact will assist you in recalling its course.
