The physical examination continues with the patient seated in the chair.
The essential elements of the assessment include:
- Neurological examination
- Vascular examination
- Musculoskeletal examination
- Dermatological examination
- Examination of footwear and orthoses has already taken place
- Examination of other factors - such as diagnostic imaging- xrays etc.
For diabetes management, there are national guidelines that specify the nature and frequency of these examinations to achieve optimal care.
