Case Study 1: Physical Examination in Chair

The physical examination continues with the patient seated in the chair.

The essential elements of the assessment include:

  • Neurological examination
  • Vascular examination
  • Musculoskeletal examination
  • Dermatological examination
  • Examination of footwear and orthoses has already taken place
  • Examination of other factors - such as diagnostic imaging- xrays etc.

For diabetes management, there are national guidelines that specify the nature and frequency of these examinations to achieve optimal care.
