The elements of a standard podiatric medical history include:

1. Details regarding the Presenting complaint
2. Podiatric and medical history (including post podiatric treatment, full medical and mental health history)
3. Medication history
4. Surgical history
5. Family history (including questions regarding dieseases or complaints that might have affected parents or other relatives
6. Social and work history
7. Allergy history
8. Smoking history or consumption of alcohol
9. Detailed history regarding current and past Footwear

The patients reporting of this information is often recorded as the SUBJECTIVE findings in the medical or podiatric history notes.
