Case Study 2: Part 2- Physical Examination Skills
Now we move to the second part of the consultation, the podiatric examination. Podiatrists routinely conduct physical examinations of their patients to assess and diagnose foot and lower limb conditions.
To do this effectively, practitioners rely on their knowledge of basic sciences such as anatomy, physiology, pathology, microbiology and of course, podiatric medicine.
Other assessment skills
Podiatrists are able to conduct other examinations as required. For example, examining footwear or requesting then interpreting x-rays.
